Lucifer's magnetism is undeniable, but it's not just his handsome face (or rock-hard abs) that pull you right in. But we can help you adopt his classy sense of style and put together your own debonair attire. And while in this case, the Devil truly wears Prada, we have been sure to make our recommendations fall under a reasonable budget. So without further ado, let's dive head-first into these 15 tips to look as lush as Lucifer himself!
As far as prints that work well for men are concerned, nothing comes close to the elegance of some good ol' stripes. Pinstripes can really kick the style quotient of an otherwise modest outfit several notches up, and the devil shows us exactly how it's done in this photo. Subtle vertical stripes on a blue blazer will make you look totally debonair, while also helping you stand out from the crowd of solid shades.

Between 1962 and 1967, Connery portrayed the debonair Agent 007 in the first five Bond films: Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, and You Only Live Once. Generally opposed to the commitment of a film series, Connery was reluctant to take the role but did so for the sake of his career. He departed from the job after the fifth movie but returned for the seventh Bond film in 1971, and then once more in 1983. His presence, magnetism, and suave attitude gained him critical recognition, including a Golden Globes Henrietta Award, an Academy Award, two BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) awards, and a knighthood for services to film drama.
Vinita Dixit wants to pose nude. No coer- cion, no blackmail, nogimmicks. She sees it simply as a way of making an honest living. Her figure she’sbeen told by photographers, is good. A centrespread in The Indian magazineDebonair last year, proved it. There’s just one flaw. Her face is notbeautiful.
That has not stopped Vinita, 24, from getting assignments in major ‘adult’magazines like Debonair, Chastity and Fantasy. "I want to model in adfilmsbut don’t know how to go about it" says the middle class woman, whodreams of going places in the show-biz world. But there are very few placesleft to go in the entertainment industry once an average-looking girl has ‘baredall’.
Women who are splashed across doublespreads of adult magazines, in variousstages of undress, are at the risk of getting branded. The popularmisconception is that any woman willing to expose herself in front of a camerais of easy virtue.
Professional models generally stay away from adult magazines even thoughthey have no hesitation in appearing semiclad in advertisements or on thecovers of women’s magazines. "There is a massive shortage ofprofessional models in this field," says Randhir Khare, editor of Debonair".
"The options were restricted to films and magazines," says Khare. "Itdid not affect the reputation of a model at all if she posed nude for Debonair"With the television boom there has been a phenomenal increase in opportunitiesin modelling and acting. There is a market for everybody and one can earn muchmore as a film extra than as a nude model.
Besides, there is fear. Police crackdowns, particularly in Mumbai, have made peopleassociated with adult magazines, extremely nervous. Khare, for instance, isroutinely hauled to the police station; on last count there were 13 criminalcases against him for obscenity. Editors of Chastity and Fantasy keep a lowprofile and are difficult to reach.
It is a sleazy world behind the pricey magazines in sealed polythene covers.Scratch the smooth surface, and one encounters shifty-eyed characters whoexploit the naive models in the name of glamour photography. They are the middlemen who pass off as model coordinators.
Often it is a question of how trust-worthy the photographer is. Rich, smart, beautiful working women may figure occasionally in the gatefolds of adultmagazines but most models are there out of sheer desperation. Often they face situations compelling them to jump into bed with the middlemen or thephotographers. "Ninety per cent of the women in television, films andmodelling have to ‘compromise.
The photographer sells the pictures to the magazines or the coordinators butthe girls still may not get any assignment. They again have to shed theirclothes, to live on in Mumbai. The money is nothing to write home about: it is Rs 5,000 for a centrespread on an average; even the best models get only Rs10,000.
The lucky ones may get into television serials but most others end up asextras in films. Another option is posing for undergarments; very few like itfor fear of their relatives and friends noticing the ads. They think that posingfor the centrespreads is safer because their family and friends never buymagazines like Debonair.
She was taken to a photographer, who shot her with her shirt partly open. "Iwas paid Rs 400 for just two hours of posing. Then only I realised how muchmoney there was in this field," says Vinita naively. She contacted photographers listed in the yellow pages and finally made it to a Debonaircentrespread. "I did feel shy to remove my clothes," she recalls. "Iwas very scared but the photographer and his assistants didn’t even touchme. They made me feel very comfortable." ill frowned upon. Adult magazinesare still read furtively even by adults. Editors like Bindra are, however, confident that magazines like Chastity will one day achieve the class and statusof their American counterparts like Playboy.
‘Adult Magazines’ are a decent term to describe pornography, onemight say. In Sri Lanka adult magazines published for public circulation areunheard of, unlike in neighbouring India. Here there are only those publishedunder strict secrecy and obtainable only from certain parties. Such magazinesfall into the category of pornographic material and are not registeredpublications. But the Sri Lankan attitude itself towards these so called adultmagazines is hypocritical. While a majority of males read these magazines, society itself is waiting to pass its judgment on those who appear in suchlurid magazines.
What makes Lankan women bare their bodies in such magazines? As one editorof a tabloid pointed out there are girls who voluntarily send their nudephotographs to be published. Veteran photographer Mahinda Fernando’s opinion is that most girls are willing to pose nude as they consider it alaunching pad for better prospects. They dream of a bright future as anactress or a model just because they are featured on the cover or centre spread. As for girls being exploited, he said that as a photographer he did not look atit in a derogatory way. It all depends on the manner in which societyinterprets it, he says.
"It is my experience that most girls who volunteer to pose in revealingpostures are from lower middle class families. In Sri Lanka I don’t thinkgirls are paid for modelling even in newspapers and magazines. When I was attached to the Times of Ceylon, a friend introduced a girl who volunteeredto pose for the Times of Ceylon Annual. I don’t think I even paid her. I’mnot aware of the situation today as I’m involved in bridal photography."
Unlike the American Play Boy or the Indian Chastity and Fantasy magazines,in Sri Lanka the so called adult magazines are of low quality. Thephotographers themselves do not like to be identified. The photographers rarelypay any detail to background, lighting or the pose. .Models can be clad in silkor immersed in water to strike a suggestive pose. However in local magazinesthe girls simply strike any pose, revealing their breasts etc. When thepublishers get these photographs they do an equally cheap job by trying tocover certain parts of the body.
According to a photographer who did not want to be identified, Sri Lankangirls willing to pose nude do not look for money. They seek fame and fortune, expecting their faces to be captured by a film maker. "Girls are waitingfor their faces to be launched on a magazine. But the number of magazines inSri Lanka are limited and the photographers of such magazines look forprofessional models and beauties. As such the chances our aspiring girls haveare limited. Thus they go to the extent of even revealing their bodies just toget their faces onto a mag. This enables photographers to exploit girls."
A. As long as you're not so obsessed with masturbating that you're missing work to lock yourself in your room, blast the Divinyls I Touch Myself, and get down with a feather tickler you've affectionately nicknamed Barney Stinson, then no. Touching yourself is actually good for your health. It relieves tension and releases the same endorphins that flow post-workout. "Masturbation can make you feel empowered," says Doerthe Brueggmann, MD, an ob-gyn and cofounder of the online magazine Health Goes Female. Think of it as a hook-up with someone fantastic. You!
To be, or not to be Sylheti: that is the question: Whether 'tis a state of mind? Or a linguistic divide? Perhaps a joie de vivre combined with insouciance? A certain type of wit and style? Possibly a natural flair, an inborn debonair? An inimitable kind of cool? Maybe a quality endowed by ley lines and the alignment of magnetic fields bound by the walls of the Surma Valley? A blessing of the Almighty? 2ff7e9595c
